Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII)
Chapter: Nickname: Founded: Founded Locally: Philanthropy: Symbol Flower: Colors: Mascot: Local Website The women of Alpha Omicron Pi are brought together across the United States and Canada by a bond of sisterhood and loyalty. For 109 years Alpha Omicron Pi's have taken part in service and social activities, scholarship, campus involvement, personal growth and lifetime friendships. The women of the Chi Lambda chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi display a great deal of leadership throughout the UE campus. We are orientation leaders, admission ambassadors, varsity athletes, ACES dance team members and members of the Student Activities Board, as well as leaders within many other campus organizations and honor societies. Within our chapter, we have had many crowned homecoming queens and have also taken home trophies from several campus events. Members of Alpha Omicron Pis are known for our commitment to service and the community. Our main philanthropic event last year, Survival of the Fittest, helped us raise $3,400 for arthritis research. Throughout the school year, we hold various philanthropic events, such as Trick or Treat for Arthritis and a community-wide yard-sale that benefits a scholarship fund. We also actively participate in many other philanthropic events within both the Greek and greater Evansville communities. Alpha Omicron Pis are also dedicated to academic excellence. We are members of many academic honor societies, including Sigma Alpha Iota, Phi Eta Sigma, Order of Omega, Rho Lambda, Mortar Board and Sigma Theta Tau, just to name a few. As Alpha Omicron Pi, we make the most of our time together with fraternity mixers, date parties, our annual Rose Formal and numerous sisterhood outings. We pride ourselves on individuality. We do not represent just one type of person, but instead rely on the diversity of each member within the chapter to create a unique bond and close sisterhood that is unlike any other. We are dedicated, intelligent and fun-loving women who are deeply committed to scholarship, leadership, campus and community involvement, service, friendship, and most of all, our sisters. |
