Chapter: Nickname: Founded: Founded Locally: Philanthropy: Symbol Flower: Colors: Mascot: Famous Members: Everyone strives to be the best, but in Chi Omega, the nation’s largest sorority, being the best is our tradition. Celebrating over 50 years of excellence at the University of Evansville, the Chi Epsilon Chapter of Chi Omega has a history of success. The foundation of our sisterhood is based on six purposes: high standards of personnel, scholarship, campus activities, career development, friendship and community service. The Chi Epsilon chapter of Chi Omega represents women of dignity, character, intelligence, humor and respect. Earning the highest grade point average on campus for more than 21 consecutive semesters, most recently achieving 3.4, Chi Epsilon has helped boost the Chi Omega national grade point average to the highest ever for a Greek organization. Members of Chi Omega also participate in various honor societies including Rho Lambda, Order of Omega, Phi Eta Sigma and the Dean’s List. Chi Omega is well-known for recognizing women’s achievements, and Chi Epsilon has celebrated many of its own. We recently won the Delta Omega Zeta Price is Right philanthropy event and the Spring 2005 homecoming queen. The women of Chi Omega represent many other organizations on campus such as Admission Ambassadors, Orientation Leaders, Delta Sigma Pi, Student Congress and Best Buddies. They also serve as residence assistants, on the Aces dance team, and in varsity athletics including women’s tennis, golf, swimming and cheerleading. The chapter participates in various philanthropic events and volunteer activities that assist the Evansville community. Chi Omega holds an annual spring golf classic, donating proceeds to the Albion Fellows Bacon Center, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. In the fall, Chi Epsilon holds its annual Make-a-Dish-for-Make-a-Wish event, from which all proceeds are donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The chapter also supports other Greek organizations’ philanthropies. Through date parties, fraternity mixers, formals, Greek Week and sisterhood activities, the bond of Chi Omega grows stronger every day. Chi Omega is a sisterhood that recognizes the importance of individuality, the awareness of goals, and, above all, understands the real worth of a woman. |
