Since our founding in Macon, Georgia, on March 4, 1852, Phi Mu has become one of the strongest women’s fraternities with over 150,000 members. It is the second oldest Greek organization for women in the nation. Phi Mu provides personal and academic development, service to others, commitment to excellence, and lifelong friendships through a shared bond and tradition. As a Phi Mu, you will see that our sisterhood is based on three ideals: Love, Honor and Truth.

The women of Phi Mu strongly support giving back to the community. We show our commitment to helping others by raising money through our philanthropic events, volunteering in the community, and participating in the philanthropic activities of other sororities and fraternities. Phi Mu’s national philanthropies are Project HOPE and the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). Our local philanthropy is Riley Hospital for Children, a CMN hospital in Indianapolis. In the fall, we hold an annual lip-synch contest, Rock-for-Riley. In the spring we team up with the men of Sigma Alpha Epsilon to host U*E*D*M, an all-night dance marathon. The money raised during both of these events goes to Riley Hospital.

Phi Mus are committed to academic excellence. We are members of several honor organizations, including Rho Lambda, Order of Omega, Phi Eta Sigma and Mortar Board. We encourage and support our sisters who participate in internships, clinicals and study abroad programs. In recent years, we have received recognition from the Phi Mu Fraternity National Headquarters commending our academic achievements.

Phi Mu women are very involved on campus. Our sisters compete in varsity athletics and are members of the Aces cheer and dance teams. We are also orientation leaders, admission ambassadors and hold leadership positions in many other campus organizations. Phi Mus perform in the choir and symphony and are members of honor societies, professional and religious clubs, and fraternities. We are proud to have had a sister crowned homecoming queen in Fall 2005. We also have competed in and won many intramural events and championships.

If Phi Mus are anything, we are social sisters! We host events throughout the year – a winter semiformal, a spring formal, mixers with other fraternities and sororities, and date parties. We also enjoy each other’s company at sisterhood retreats every semester. We love to hang out together! Phi Mu is so much more than a group of women coming together. We are a group of sisters and friends that form a bond built on Love, Honor and Truth. There is no place like HOME.
